Skullcandy announced and released the Crusher 1080 ANC wireless headphones on August 10 in New York City, marking a major upgrade to its audio product line with Bose technology integration [1]. The headphones incorporate Bose’s QuietControl active noise cancellation (ANC), TrueSpatial directional audio with head tracking, and WaveForm tuning for enhanced sound performance [2, 1, 3].

The Crusher 1080 ANC features new drivers with a stiffer diaphragm to improve audio clarity and reduce distortion at high volumes [2]. A large physical dial enables adjustable bass boost via Skullcandy’s proprietary haptic bass technology, allowing users to increase bass without muddying mids and highs. "Theoretically, this means that when you crank up the bass effect with the dial, the 'mids and highs are still way, way sharp, versus in the past, when they tended to get muddy," said Skullcandy CEO Brian Garofalow [1].

Skullcandy partnered with Bose engineers to separate bass tuning from mids and highs in the audio spectrum, aiming to reduce distortion at high bass levels [1]. The Crusher 1080 ANC supports Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio, Auracast, multipoint pairing, wear detection, and a fold-flat design for convenience [2, 3].

Battery life is estimated at up to 60 hours with ANC off and 50 hours with ANC on. Rapid charging provides about 4 hours of playback from just 10 minutes of charging [2, 3]. The headphones launch at a price of $279.99 USD and will be available in multiple colors [2, 3].

This is the first time Bose’s TrueSpatial audio technology with head tracking appears on non-Bose headphones [2, 3]. Skullcandy began enhancing its audio quality through Bose partnership in 2025 with the release of the Method 360 ANC earbuds [1]. Garofalow noted the brand’s shift toward improved engineering and innovation: "We've been really, really great at community building and nurturing and helping push cultures forward—not the greatest at the engineering part of innovation with products. So we've really been honing our chops in the last few years" [1].

The Crusher 1080 ANC headphones are now available for purchase in the US and select markets.
