YouTuber Reckless Ben has been legally barred from investigating or posting videos about LEGO reseller Bricks & Minifigs under a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued May 28, 2026, by the Utah Fourth Judicial District Court. The order threatens jail time if he breaks it and may require him to remove past videos on the subject [1, 2].

The TRO stems from a private legal dispute between Bryan Mansell and Chrystal Law involving a consignment deal. Mansell’s father’s sizable LEGO Star Wars collection, valued at around $200,000, was consigned to Bricks & Minifigs for sale. Following a hostile takeover of the Oregon-based store, new management allegedly refused to honor the original deal and kept the collection [1, 2].

Ben claims the gag order was issued because the opposing party accused him of issuing bomb and death threats, charges he denies. He said he was unable to present his side in court [1].

Ben told his audience in a "final message" video posted June 9 that defying the order would risk not only jail but also the seizure of over $450,000 raised on GoFundMe to reimburse the Mansell family. "Normally I would be like, ‘screw the big guy telling me what to do, I’m gonna do what’s morally right.’ But, in this situation, if I do that, then all my friends get screwed with this lawsuit, and we lose all this GoFundMe money we raised, like, immediately," he said [1, 2].

Despite the ongoing dispute, the CEO of Patreon expressed support for keeping Reckless Ben’s content on its platform [2].

The TRO was served digitally via email and forbids new videos about Bricks & Minifigs. It also potentially requires removing previous related content [2]. Reckless Ben remains bound by the order while legal proceedings continue.
