Crimson Desert patch 1.04.00 went live on 2026-05-05 and adds easy, normal and hard difficulty levels that change damage taken, reaction time and healing mechanics. [1]
The update also adds pet birds that can be found around Pywel. Players must complete a quest and use an item called the Sotdae of Bond to gain the birds' trust. [1]
Pearl Abyss also added five new cat types, plus the Abyss Heuklang as a petable companion. The patch lets players rename pets and horses, while a bug that left cats stuck on players' shoulders has been replaced by the Sigil of Bonding, which lets them stay there on purpose. [1]
Livestock sellers are now in the game, giving players a way to buy cows, pigs, goats, sheep, ducks and chickens. The patch notes say the animals presumably produce resources. [1]
Other changes include improved rendering for distant objects, tumbleweeds in red and desert regions, and balance tweaks across controls, the interface, storage and combat. [1]
