AMC+ will add the modern revival of Doctor Who to its streaming lineup starting June 11, 2026, in the United States. The deal includes 13 seasons and roughly 175 to 176 episodes of the "New Who" era, covering years 2005 to 2022. This span features shows starring Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Jodie Whittaker [1, 2].
The streaming package importantly excludes the original classic Doctor Who series from 1963 to 1989, Tennant’s 60th anniversary specials, and the new episodes starring Ncuti Gatwa, which are available on Disney+ instead [1, 2].
Courtney Thomasma, Executive Vice President of AMC Global Media, said Doctor Who "strengthens AMC+’s position as a destination for premium genre storytelling." She added that the acquisition offers longtime fans "a reason to return while inviting new audiences to discover one of television’s most beloved franchises" [2].
The arrival of Doctor Who on AMC+ follows HBO Max’s removal of the show’s seasons 1 through 13 from its streaming service in July 2023. Ncuti Gatwa’s run as the 15th Doctor began streaming late 2023 on Disney+ instead [1].
Looking ahead, Doctor Who’s future beyond its upcoming Christmas special remains uncertain. The show is on a production hiatus after Disney ended its co-funding role. AMC has been reported as a possible new U.S. financial backer for the series moving forward [2]. A Christmas special is planned for December 2026, with filming likely to take place in early fall of that year [2].
Currently, AMC+ is also offering a promotional deal of $29.99 for a full year of streaming that ends on May 25, 2026 [1]. This pricing could encourage new subscribers to access Doctor Who’s revival when it launches shortly afterward.
The clear next step is the June 11, 2026, streaming debut, which will make the modern incarnation of Doctor Who available on AMC+ across the U.S.
