Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, featuring only the single-player campaign at release. Rockstar Games confirmed the online mode or a new GTA Online sequel will arrive later, not at launch [1, 2, 3, 4].

Pre-orders for GTA 6 opened at midnight local time on June 24, 2026. Physical editions do not include a game disc but provide a download code instead. Physical copies will ship starting November 12 to allow preload ahead of the launch [1, 2].

The standard edition of the game is priced at $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99. The Ultimate Edition offers digital extras such as premium vehicles, weapons, and apparel, which will be unlocked throughout the single-player story mode [2, 3].

A preorder bonus called the Vintage Vice City Pack includes themed vehicles, outfits, and weapon skins inspired by GTA: Vice City [2].

Rockstar has released only a few cinematic trailers so far and has yet to show actual gameplay footage [1, 4]. The company described GTA 6 as "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet" [1, 3].

Industry commentator Geoff Keighley noted that the absence of online features at launch seemed clear: "This seems to suggest online will not be part of the initial launch" [3].

Based on previous Rockstar patterns, the online mode, possibly called GTA Online 2, may release around early December 2026 [1, 3].
