Helldivers 2 released its Warhammer 40,000 crossover Legendary Warbond called Castellan's Creed on August 12, featuring gear inspired by the Astra Militarum's elite Cadian Kasrkin regiment [1, 2, 3]. Arrowhead Studios described it as a historic crossover, inviting players to "roll the dice to break the traitorous enemies of Super Earth" [1].
The Warbond includes the Hot-shot Marksman Rifle for medium to long-range combat, the Bolt Pistol as a secondary weapon, the Meltagun stratagem which fires a superheated beam to cut through armor, and Meltamine throwables acting as proximity-activated burst mines [1, 2, 3]. Two armor sets come with the Warbond: the TG-8 Sharpshooter medium armor and the TG-122 Demo-Trooper heavy armor. Both feature the True Grit passive, which provides +20 weapon handling and a 30% faster reload speed for support weapons [1, 2, 3].
New cosmetics accompany these items, including paint patterns for the FRV buggy, exo suit, shuttle, helipod, player banners, capes, and a player title [1, 3]. The crossover pays tribute to Helldivers who made a heroic last stand defending the peaceful world of Chara during Warhammer 40,000's First Galactic War, Arrowhead noted [2, 3].
While Arrowhead has not confirmed the price, previous Legendary Warbonds were priced around 1500 Super Credits. The in-game currency can be purchased with real money, with prices ranging from $1.99 for 150 credits up to $19.99 for 2100 credits. The Warbond requires Super Credits and cannot be purchased with premium Warbond tokens [1, 3].
Helldivers 2 has sustained a steady player base since its launch nearly two and a half years ago, peaking at 458,709 concurrent players on Steam at launch [1].
