Maverick Games revealed Clutch, a cinematic open-world racing game developed under former Forza Horizon creative director Mike Brown, at Summer Game Fest 2026 in June [1, 2]. The game features a detailed version of Monaco larger than the real city, including every main road and landmark. Brown said, "We’ve built a version of Monaco that is actually larger than real-life Monaco. So Monaco, known for being quite dense and tight, we’ve allowed our level designers to add a little bit of space here and there – but every main road, every main landmark is present and correct." [2]

Clutch's game world extends beyond Monaco to span the French Riviera, reaching the Alps, the Verdon Gorge, and west to Saint-Tropez. The game includes three main city hubs: Monaco, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez. Brown described the scope as "a huge world to explore and one that, we think, everywhere you go there’s real beautiful things to explore and see." [2]

The story centers on siblings Theo Martial and Cass. The narrative focuses on professional circuit racing, underground street racing, and high-speed pursuits, crafted by Scottish TV writer Jamie Brittain [2]. Voice actors Jane Perry, Peter Serafinowicz, Tosin Cole, and Little Simz will portray key characters such as Theo and Cass [1].

Within the game, players will encounter the Riviera 1000 (R1K), depicted as the most prestigious motorsport event in the game's world. The race storyline involves controversies surrounding new safety technologies introduced after a tragic accident [2].

Clutch is scheduled to launch in spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC [1].
