Bethesda released the Terran Armada DLC and Free Lanes update for Starfield in early May 2026 [1]. Shortly after, players reported a progression-blocking bug in the DLC affecting the "Into the Void" quest. The bug triggers if players visit Anchorpoint Station before starting the DLC, causing a quest softlock [1].

The issue prevents players from telling a barkeep a codephrase during the mission, halting progression [1]. Modder EgoBallistic explained the bug stems from two mandatory quest location aliases not being flagged as "Allow Reserved." At least one side quest at Anchorpoint Station reserves one of those locations, blocking the main quest from starting properly [1].

To address the problem, EgoBallistic released the "Into the Void Bug Fix" mod. It changes the alias flags to "Allow Reserved" allowing the quest to trigger regardless of side quest activity. The mod also includes a script that retroactively fixes affected save files. It triggers the quest automatically if certain conditions are met, ensuring players can continue [1]. EgoBallistic said, "If 'Lost Luxury' was completed, and 'Into the Void' is both not running and has not been completed, it will start the quest." [1]

The mod requires only the Terran Armada DLC and is recommended to be installed through a mod manager to ensure compatibility and ease of use [1].

Players encountering the bug are advised to apply the mod to avoid progression loss. As of early May 2026, no official Bethesda patch has been released to fix the issue.
