Nintendo said it will launch a Switch 2 "Choose Your Game" bundle in early June, giving buyers one of three games with the console before a price increase takes effect on Sept. 1. The bundle includes Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia, and Nintendo said it is meant to offer a cheaper way to buy the console plus a game before the higher price kicks in. Nintendo also said the bundle will be available for a limited time while supplies last. The company has not set an end date, but multiple reports said the offer is likely to run before the Sept. 1 price rise. [1, 2]

The current Switch 2 price is $449.99. Nintendo plans to lift that to $499.99 on Sept. 1, while the bundle is also priced at $499.99, or about $500, depending on the report. That works out to an estimated saving of $20 to $30 versus buying the console and a game separately. [5, 1, 2, 3, 4]

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said the company wants "a robust software lineup to enhance the Switch 2 ownership value" and added, "We will work diligently to overcome this barrier," referring to the higher price. He said Nintendo had to balance its push for broad adoption with rising costs over time. [5]

Furukawa also said Nintendo is working on a range of new Switch 2 titles, not only its biggest releases, and indicated there are more games planned for the second half of 2026 beyond those already announced. Among the releases already on the calendar are Yoshi and the Mysterious Book on May 21, Star Fox on June 25 and Splatoon Raiders on July 23. [2, 6, 7]

Nintendo has also pointed to Pokémon Pokopia as a strong seller, saying it has moved more than 4 million copies in five weeks. Multiple reports said the game has contributed strongly to hardware sales and may be outperforming Nintendo's expectations. [1, 6]
