The Pokémon Company revealed that total shipments of all Pokémon-related software have surpassed 515 million units as of March 2026, including 16 million units shipped in the last year alone. Notable recent game titles contributing to this number include Pokémon Pokopia and Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which sold 4 million and 12 million copies respectively since early 2026 and prior periods [1, 2].

Since the launch of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in 1996, the company reported printing over 85 billion Pokémon TCG cards worldwide. Of these, more than 10 billion were printed in the last year, with sets such as Scarlet & Violet–Prismatic Evolutions driving strong demand and production [1, 2, 3].

However, Pokémon TCG products remain difficult to obtain due to high demand, causing ongoing shortages, scalping, and theft incidents globally. The Pokémon Company acknowledged these availability issues a year ago, stating, "We’re aware that some fans are experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products due to very high demand impacting availability... we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to acknowledge this" [3].

The long-term growth in card production has been dramatic: more than double the total cards printed by May 2021 were produced in the last five years. The total reached approximately 34.1 billion cards by May 2021 and jumped to around 75 billion by May 2025 [3].

Looking ahead, The Pokémon Company plans to release Pokémon Winds and Waves for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027 [1].
