Polyarc, the studio founded by former Bungie developers, announced Moss: The Forgotten Relic, a new non-VR game merging the original Moss and Moss: Book II into one experience for PC and consoles [1, 2, 3].

The game lets players control Quill, a mouse navigating puzzles, combat, and platforming in an ancient realm [1, 3]. While the VR versions positioned a player as a godly presence able to look around and affect the environment, the new version retains this concept through a Smart Follow Camera system and similar god-like powers without requiring a headset [1, 3].

Enhancements include improved visuals and performance, handcrafted cutscenes, and an accessibility option to skip combat sections on console and PC versions [2, 3]. This aims to broaden the game's appeal by removing VR barriers and combat difficulty.

Danny Bulla, Polyarc cofounder and design director, said, "Our team has a deeply personal connection with the world and characters of Moss. With The Forgotten Relic, we're excited to invite players into Quill's journey to share the wonder, mystery, and heart at the center of Moss" [1].

Moss: The Forgotten Relic will launch in summer 2026 on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms [1, 2, 3].
