Quartz can be found occasionally on the seafloor near the Lifepod but is most abundant inside coral domes, which always contain at least one quartz deposit [1, 2]. Large quartz deposits appear more regularly around the Alien Ruins and within caves or trenches near the Lifepod, where players need the Sonic Resonator to mine them [1, 2]. These notable quartz spots lie about 300 meters east of the Lifepod and at depths exceeding 250 meters near the Alien Ruins [1].

Copper appears randomly on the underside of overhangs and in caves close to the Lifepod, but these locations do not always yield copper and can contain titanium instead [3]. A reliable early-game copper farming site is a large coral dome about 150 meters north of the Lifepod, featuring multiple copper deposits and some silver found in a cave beneath the dome [3].

Sulfur spawns near lava geysers in heated waters and requires players to unlock heat tolerance adaptation to gather it safely [4]. The prime sulfur farming area is a large pillar about 250 meters south-southeast of the Lifepod at the edge of the lava region, which holds roughly 24 sulfur pieces across multiple large and medium deposits [4]. Before unlocking heat tolerance, players can find two small sulfur fragments near Chap's Blackbox located 220 meters southeast of the Lifepod [4].

After gaining heat tolerance adaptation in the main story, players can use the Sonic Resonator to safely collect sulfur in these volcanic areas [4]. These locations offer the best opportunities for gathering essential resources for progression in Subnautica 2.
