Ubisoft and Microsoft announced a partnership enabling owners of select Ubisoft games on Xbox to access free PC versions through Ubisoft Connect starting August 4, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4]. The program includes 13 Ubisoft titles such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Far Cry 6, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege [1, 2, 3, 4].
Players who already own these games digitally on Xbox are receiving their PC copies via a progressive rollout that will complete by August 4, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4]. New digital purchases on Xbox automatically grant immediate access to both Xbox and PC versions [1, 2, 4]. However, the conversion only works one way: owning the Xbox version unlocks the PC copy, but purchasing on PC does not give access to Xbox versions [1, 2, 4].
Any downloadable content (DLC) included with the Xbox version transfers to PC, but consumable items and in-game currency may not carry over [1, 4]. To access the PC versions, players must update to the latest Ubisoft Connect client on their computers [1, 3, 4].
In addition, the Xbox PC App is adding premium editions and DLC for several Ubisoft games as paid options [1, 2, 3].
The rollout of free PC copies began on August 4, 2026, and the partnership was publicly announced today, August 8, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4].
