Poncle renamed its hit game Vampire Survivors to Vampire Survivors - First Survivaton as part of a new Survivaton series aimed at expanding its Survivors-like projects with fresh gameplay twists and genre changes. The Survivaton label means "survive a ton" and covers internally developed games that build on Vampire Survivors’ foundation, studio representatives said today [1].

Alongside the rename, Poncle released update 1.15 on Steam on August 28, 2026, introducing new content. Other platforms will receive the patch, which includes additional optimizations, by the end of August, the studio said [1].

Poncle also announced a new free expansion titled Legacy of the Bloodmoon, planned for release this summer across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. It will add new characters, weapons, an XL stage, and music tracks [1, 2]. Sources differ slightly on the exact content: one states about 10 new characters and over 16 new weapons and evolutions, while another mentions 8-plus characters and 8-plus weapons with evolutions [1, 2]. The DLC will cost around 80 pence (just over $1 USD) [2].

The company is permanently reducing the price of the existing Legacy of the Moonspell expansion to complement the new content release [1].

In addition, Poncle is developing Survivaton spin-offs such as Vampire Crawlers and promised another Survivaton project reveal soon, indicating a broader expansion of the Survivaton brand beyond Vampire Survivors itself. "It's a 'stupid' name that is 'short for survive-a-ton'... We can expect a Survivaton to be like Vampire Survivors, but with a different spin on it," explained Luca Galante, a Poncle representative [2]. He added, "I'm not planning to let go of Vampire Survivors anytime soon" [2].

Poncle is also expanding its operations into Italy and Japan, signaling its increasing global ambitions [1].

The update 1.15 patch rollout to all platforms except Steam is due before the end of August. Another Survivaton spin-off project announcement is expected soon.
