Icelandic developers Vitar Games are describing Dig In as a "WW1 trench warfare colony sim" that blends trench warfare, colony sim management and real-time tactics. [1]
The game lets players build trench networks and equip them with dugouts, barbed wire and reinforced walls. It also has players manage the bodily needs and morale of named soldiers. [1]
Combat is tied to a paper map, where players defend against assaults, prepare attacks and secure quadrants. The Steam page says the game’s "blend of trench warfare, colony sim management, and real-time tactics is built around deep systemic interactions," and adds that "Runners are the lifeline of your command." [1]
Vitar Games plans to bring Dig In to early access, but it has not given a release date. [1]
