Warhorse Studios is developing a new open-world Kingdom Come RPG expected to launch during Embracer Group's next fiscal year, from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2028 [1, 2, 3, 4]. The game will follow the structure of previous Kingdom Come: Deliverance titles as a story-driven open-world role-playing game [1, 2, 3].
Prokop Jirsa, the lead designer on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, leads the new Kingdom Come RPG project [1, 3]. Tobias Stolz-Zwilling of Warhorse said, "If everything goes right, it comes next fiscal year. That means you don't have to wait seven years for another Kingdom Come. That is good!" pointing to the shorter gap between entries compared to the seven years between earlier games [2].
Warhorse is also working on a separate open-world Middle-earth RPG based on The Lord of the Rings, with no announced release date [1, 3, 4]. This title is led by Viktor Bocan, design director on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 [3, 4].
In March 2026, Warhorse laid off its Czech-to-English translator and editor, possibly replacing the role with AI-based translation tools. The upcoming Kingdom Come RPG will be the first to reveal how this change affects localization [1].
Stolz-Zwilling emphasized the team's creative freedom, stating, "It's important to remind everyone we are only working on the games we want to work on in the way we want to work on them. It's our stuff." He also added, "We still continue expanding the universe of Kingdom Come. That is also very dear to us. Do not forget that Kingdom Come: Deliverance always was and still is and always will be an absolute passion project here in the studio." [3, 4]
The new Kingdom Come RPG release window runs from April 1, 2027, through March 31, 2028 [1, 2, 3, 4].
