Athlos, an all-female track and field competition founded by Alexis Ohanian, will hold its inaugural London event on September 18, 2026, at StoneX Stadium in Barnet, London [1, 2]. The London meet marks the first time Athlos will expand beyond its established New York event, which enters its third consecutive year two weeks later at Icahn Stadium in New York City [1, 2].

The competition offers a total prize pot of $2.1 million (£1.5 million), with athletes eligible not only for prize money but also equity stakes in the league through ownership by Seven Seven Six, Ohanian’s venture capital firm overseeing $900 million (£670 million) in assets [1, 2]. Athlos features seven disciplines contested in both London and New York: 100m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, the mile, and long jump [2].

Confirmed star athletes include Sha'Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, Tara Woodhall-Davis, Masai Russell, and Marileidy Paulino [1]. Competitors can earn up to $65,000 per individual event, plus an additional $25,000 for overall event champions. An athlete winning events in both cities could total earnings of $155,000 [2].

Ohanian described the vision for Athlos as "a version" of Formula 1's global city tour for track and field. He said, "I've long been very obsessed with this 'F1 for track and field' analogy. We come to expect the fastest cars in the world to tour the greatest global cities, and for people to come out and watch and celebrate this excellence." He added, "As we grow this league, I'd love to add more cities and make Athlos truly global" [1].

Unlike the financially troubled Grand Slam Track event created by Michael Johnson, Athlos offers athletes equity stakes to share the league’s success [1, 2]. StoneX Stadium, the London event venue, is home to Saracens rugby and the Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers athletics club [1, 2].

Athlos’ London debut is set for September 18, with the follow-up New York meet scheduled approximately two weeks later, around October 2 [1, 2].
