Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign 23-year-old French forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee worth up to £123 million, including £106 million upfront and £17 million in add-ons, the clubs confirmed today [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6].

Barcola, who joined PSG from Olympique Lyonnais in 2023 for around £38.5 million, still has two years remaining on his PSG contract [1, 2, 7, 3, 5, 6]. His time at PSG was marked by significant success, winning back-to-back Champions League titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26, three Ligue 1 titles, and two French Cups [2, 3, 5, 6]. He made 152 appearances for PSG, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists across all competitions [2, 3, 5, 6].

The structure of the Liverpool deal includes an immediate guaranteed payment of £106 million to PSG, with potential add-ons of £17 million tied to Barcola’s individual and team performance [1, 7, 4, 6]. Barcola is expected to sign a five-year contract with Liverpool following a medical scheduled for this weekend [2, 3, 4, 5, 6].

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola will add a versatile forward who primarily operates on the left wing but can also play on the right or through the middle [1, 8]. Iraola emphasized the club’s desire for wingers who can "make the difference in isolation," attack spaces, and fulfill defensive pressing duties. He said, "It is difficult to find someone who can tick all the boxes, but it is what we are trying to do" [8]. The arrival of Barcola aims to strengthen the squad after the departures of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah in recent seasons [1, 2, 5, 6, 8].

Liverpool reached an initial breakthrough agreement with PSG on 27 August for a fee around £120 million before finalising the current terms two days later [7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. Barcola transferred from Lyon to PSG in 2023 and was reportedly initially valued by PSG between £140 million and £145 million in conflicting reports before settling at the current fee [9, 1, 7].

Barcola is expected to complete his medical this weekend, after which Liverpool will confirm the signing.
