Paris Saint-Germain have extended head coach Luis Enrique’s contract by three years, keeping him at the club until 2030. Enrique, who joined PSG in July 2023, has led the team to two consecutive UEFA Champions League titles in 2025 and 2026, as well as three Ligue 1 championships and a total of 13 trophies during his tenure [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6].

“It is not the best moment to talk about this but what I can say is that it is the first time in my career – and I am an old coach – in which I have stayed more than three years in the same club. I am more motivated now than I was in my first year here, which is bizarre for me. I am very happy and I hope to be up to the job,” Enrique said on the day of the announcement [5].

PSG also announced contract extensions for five players. Joao Neves, Willian Pacho, Lucas Beraldo, and Senny Mayulu signed deals running until 2031. Fabian Ruiz signed a new contract through 2028, with an option for an additional year [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6].

Neves and Pacho have been key defenders since joining PSG in 2024 from Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively, each making around 100 appearances. Beraldo arrived from Sao Paulo in January 2024. Mayulu is a France Under-21 international who has been with PSG since age 12 as an academy product. Fabian Ruiz, signed in 2022 from Napoli, has featured in 171 games, tallying 16 goals and 28 assists [2, 3].

Club president Nasser al-Khelaifi said the extended deal for Enrique and the players "represent the present and the future of our club’s project. Together, we’re aiming to build for the long term, to remain true to our values, and to continue writing a story that our supporters can be proud of" [5].

The announcement came ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Monaco on September 4, 2026; however, the team lost 2-1 in that game [1, 2, 3, 5, 6].

Luis Enrique, aged 56, will remain PSG’s head coach through the end of the 2029-2030 season under the new contract extension [1, 2, 3, 5, 6].
