Anthropic closed a $65 billion Series H funding round at a $965 billion post-money valuation on May 28, 2026 [1]. The round was co-led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, Sequoia Capital, Capital Group, Coatue, and D1 Capital Partners [2, 1]. Strategic infrastructure partners Micron, Samsung, and SK hynix also participated [2, 1].

The funding includes $15 billion in previously committed investments from hyperscalers, notably a $5 billion investment from Amazon in April 2026 [2, 1]. Anthropic has agreements with Amazon to add up to 5 gigawatts of new compute capacity, and with Google and Broadcom for an additional 5 gigawatts of TPU capacity [2]. The company also secured GPU capacity from SpaceX’s Colossus 1 and 2 systems [2].

Anthropic’s run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion earlier in May 2026 [2, 1]. The company expects a 130% revenue increase aiming for its first operating profit [1]. Krishna Rao, CFO of Anthropic, said, “Claude is increasingly indispensable to our growing global community of customers, and we work tirelessly to make tools like Claude Code and Cowork more helpful, more powerful, and more adaptable to their needs. This funding will help us serve the historic demand we are experiencing, stay at the research frontier, and bring Claude to more of the places where work happens.” [2]

On the product side, Anthropic recently released Claude Opus 4.8, a model enhanced for agentic tasks, advanced coding, honesty, and self-correction capabilities [1]. Brad Gerstner, Founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital, said, “Claude’s latest advancements have driven large-scale adoption among the world’s most demanding organizations. This momentum positions Anthropic to lead the next phase of AI innovation and capture the enormous opportunity ahead.” [1]

Anthropic plans to use the funds to advance safety and interpretability research, expand compute capacity, and scale its Claude-related products and partnerships [2, 1]. The Series H round is reported to be the company’s last private fundraising before a potential initial public offering [1]. The company is competing closely with OpenAI for fundraising and user growth ahead of IPO plans [1].
